MAMCA workshop for students

On Tuesday October 9th, Philippe Lebeau held a workshop introducing MAMCA to master students of the VUB within the class “Sustainable mobility and logistics”. He used the MAMCA methodology to demonstrate the importance of involving stakeholders in the decision processes.

To do so, students simulated a meeting with the objective to chose a solution that will improve the sustainability of urban logistics. The students were split into the different stakeholders groups of city logistics (citizens, local authorities, transporters, receivers and shippers). The MAMCA methodology was used as a support tool for the discussion. Their objective was to select the solution that will get the best support from all stakeholders in order to guarantee its successful implementation.

With this workshop, the students are made aware of the importance of including all stakeholders in the decisions rather than choosing a solution by optimizing the objectives of their own stakeholder group.
